Jerry C. Ware, 82, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. He was born Apr. 27, 1930 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Walter C. and Vera B. (Heil) Ware.

Jerry started his insurance career with Metropolitan Life and retired from American General Life Insurance. He was also a former employee of Heslop Funeral Home. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #38 and Ohio City Lodge #486 F. & A.M. all of Martins Ferry and the former VFW Post #3613. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Korean War.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Norma Bianconi.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Delores A. (Laipple) Ware, three sons; Greg (Linda) Ware and Jeff (Marci) Ware all of Martins Ferry and Brad Ware of Williamsburg, VA, three grandchildren; Megan, Gregrey and Chad Ware, a step-brother, a niece and two nephews.

Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 from 10 am until time of services at 11:00 am with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.

Deacons services will be held Tuesday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Military honors will be presented by the VFW Belmont County Honor Guard at the funeral home at 10:45 am Wednesday.
